Columbia, Missouri -Â The men's cross country team continued their season with a solid showing at the Gans Creek Classic. The Saints traveled west to Columbia, Missouri and raced to a 12th place team finish in the "Open" race. The Saints, who are currently perched at #16 in the NAIA national rankings, battled some of the top teams in the nation on a picture perfect day for racing.
Aquinas was led by the one-two punch of
Ethan Barker (48th - 25:12) and
Matthew Schieber (57th - 25:18). Following Barker and Schieber through the chute was
Ben Hardy (96th - 25:44) and
Edward Frey (114th - 25:56).The final scoring position was turned in by
Juan David Hernandez (131st - 26:05).

Mike Wojciakowski commented, "It was a mixed bag for the men out there today. We had an great opportunity today, but didn't quite deliver. We did have some very solid performances and we can use this meet as a measuring stick on where we need to improve. Overall we will take the results from today, but we are already looking forward to our next opportunity to compete."
The top seven concluded with
Brian Langlois and
Noah Momber. Langlois placed 132nd (26:05), while Momber finished in 149th (26:14).
A total of 388 individuals competed from 29 different colleges and universities.
The Saints will return to action on October 5th as they travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to compete in the Seminole Valley Stampede. The meet will be contested at Seminole Valley Park with the men starting at 10:30am.
