Box Score Alma, Mich. – The Aquinas women's tennis team competed for the first time this fall on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 8). Only four Saints competed today, leading to a 6-1 victory for the Alma Scots. Returning senior,
Carlota Arzabe, picked up the lone point for the Saints today with a dominant singles performance.

Arzabe dominated the number one singles match, winning her sets by scores of 6-2 and a perfect sweep of 6-0. The senior from Madrid, Spain continues to prove that she is AQ's premier player.
Ruth Rabaut played in the number two singles bout and won two games in the first set, but ultimately fell in her match.
Hannah Laurido was AQ's representative in the number three singles match and one a single game in both of her sets.
Megan Hearn rounded out the singles competition in the number four singles match, winning one game in the first set and two games in the second set.
Arzabe and Rabaut teamed up in the number one doubles match and took home three games in the 6-3 set that went in favor of the Scots. Lourido and Hearn picked up one more game with four games in their match but fell just short in the number two doubles match.

The Saints will return to action next weekend (Sept. 13-14) to compete in the Hope Invitational. The tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. on both days.
