Women's Cross Country NAIA Coaches' Poll - No. 3
Kansas City. Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the Women's Cross Country Top 25 Coaches' Poll on Thursday (Oct. 16). The Saints, who were slated 15th in the previous poll, moved up three spots to take over the #12 position in the country.
Aquinas opened their season with a second place finish at the Calvin University Diemer Classic. The Saints tallied 37 points and only trailed the host Calvin University Knights in the final results. Aquinas would then best an eleven team field to win the Siena Heights Invitational by 38 points. Most recently Aquinas would win the Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Saints posted the fastest team time (6000 meters) in school history and outdistanced themselves from 16 other institutions in the final results.
The Saints, who are looking to claim their first WHAC title since 2020, finished second in 2024 and find themselves slightly behind one other WHAC school in the Top 25. Cornerstone sits at No. 8 in the current poll.
Coach Wojciakowski added, "It's a very exciting time to be apart of this program. We have a great group of student-athletes who are training and competing at a very high level. The really awesome thing is that the best is yet to come. Our ceiling for success has not been touched yet and I'm beyond excited to see what this group does over the remainder of the season."
The Saints will return to action on October 25th as they host the annual NAIA Great Lakes Challenge. The meet will be contested at Riverside Park with the women's start time scheduled for 11:00am.
