Adrian, Michigan - The women's cross country team continued their season with a very solid effort at the Siena Heights Invitational. The Saints traveled to Heritage Park in Adrian and raced to a first place team finish. Aquinas, who currently sits at #15 in the NAIA national rankings, outdistanced the nearest squad by 38 points to secure the team title.
Madison Rempalski captured the individual medalist honor and paced three Saints within the top five of the race. Madi crossed the line in 22:43, while
Amber Koole (3rd - 23:20) and
Ella Koons (5th - 23:34) solidified a strong up front presence for the Saints. The duo of
Carolyn Bennett and
Anna Tubbergen rounded out the scoring for the Saints. Bennett placed 16th in 24:19, while Tubbergan crossed the line in 24:23 to finish in 18th.

Nick Thelen commented, "Our goals coming into this meet were to preview the conference championship course, gain experience racing the 6000m distance for the first time this season, and secure our a team victory. The group rose to the challenge and accomplished each of those goals."
Also contributing to Aquinas' top seven were
Lauren Wooer who finished 21st in a time of 24:28 and
Claire O'Boyle, who crossed the line at 26:38 to place 29th.
Koole, a former standout for GR Covenant Christian added, "I'm overly excited seeing the team improve so much from last year and we just keep getting better. Something cool is coming, i can feel it making its way."
A total of 107 individuals competed for eleven different institutions.
The Saints will return to action on October 4th as they travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to compete in the Seminole Valley Stampede
