Tallahassee, Florida - After placing second at the WHAC Championships two weeks ago and securing an at-large bid, the Saints traveled to compete at the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida this morning. The Saints entered the meet ranked 19th in the country, but improved on that and finished in 18th place out of 36 competing institutions.
The Saints were paced by
Madison Rempalski who covered the 6000 meters in a time of 21:56. Madi's effort led to a 38th place finish overall to earn her All American accolades. Rempalski is the twelfth women in XC history to earn this distinction.
Amber Koole crossed the line next for Aquinas as she placed 61st in a time of 22:24.
Ella Koons (23:12) and
Lauren Wooer (23:20) finished in a 135th and 145th respectively for the Saints.
Anna Tubbergen placed 208th in a time of 23:56 to round out the scoring for the Saints.
Carolyn Bennett (261st - 24:43) and
Claire O'Boyle (278th - 25:11) also competed for Aquinas.
Taylor won the team competition with a total score of 90 points, while Milligan, Dordt, and The Masters rounded out the podium team finishes. Aquinas tallied 458 points en route to their 18th place finish.
The Saints will now switch their attention to the upcoming indoor track and field season.
