Grand Rapids, Michigan - Adison Thorne, the daughter of Megan and Michael Thorne, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. Thorne, who currently attends Mason County Central High School, became the first signee of the 2025-26 recruiting class for the Aquinas College women's cross country and track & field programs.
Thorne simply stated, "I felt welcomed from the first time I visited. I love how the cross country team is like a family. I also like that the campus isn't too far from home."
Adison, who enjoys reading, school, crocheting, and running, has posted a personal best of 21:38 on the cross country course. On the track she has pr's of 5:56 (1600 meters) and 13:40 (3200 meters). Thorne, an all-conference honoree in both cross country and track & field, received the Lady Spartan track award, cross country MVP, and the HG Bacon Academic Excellence Gold award.
Ed Sanders, head cross country coach at Mason County Central High School added, "Adison Thorne has always competed for me. She was one who always wanted to run further in practice. Adison has always been positive to her teammates and pushes them to be better."
Adison has three siblings named Alana, Wesson, and Waylon and she plans on majoring in Biology at Aquinas College.
