GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Every other week throughout the academic year, Aquinas College Athletic Communications shines a spotlight on those who best represent what it means to be All In for Aquinas. For November 24 – December 11, 2025, three exceptional members of the AQ community rose above the rest: Women's Hockey standout Reyna Dominczak, Men's Indoor Track & Field veteran Brian Langlois, and the incomparable Sister Mary Ann Barrett, our final Saint Support Superstar of 2025.
Female Saint of the Week: Reyna Dominczak (Women's Hockey)
A senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Reyna Dominczak has been a steadying force for the Saints — the type of leader whose presence is felt far beyond the stat sheet. A Psychology major with 18 years of hockey experience, Dominczak brings maturity, perspective, and an unmatched work ethic to a young AQ roster. A two-time high school state champion and one of Aquinas' veteran players, she is committed to helping guide the Saints as they continue to rebuild momentum within the WHAC.
Off the ice, she maintains excellence academically and still finds time to enjoy life with her two beloved Maine Coon kittens. On the ice, she continues to make an impact in all situations, appearing in 14 games this season while serving as a vocal and dependable leader.
Women's Hockey Head Coach Emma Hoch shared her admiration for Dominczak's approach:
"Reyna is the heartbeat of our locker room. She elevates everything we do — not just through her play, but through her preparation, her accountability, and the way she pours into her teammates. She's the kind of leader every coach hopes to have, and our program is stronger because of her."
Male Saint of the Week: Brian Langlois (Men's Indoor Track & Field)
Few athletes embody the spirit of continuous growth like Brian Langlois. The senior from Grand Rapids delivered a lifetime-best performance last week in the 5000 meters, clocking 15:10.74 — a time that ranked him second on the early WHAC performance list. But for Langlois, standout performances are nothing new.
A two-time NAIA National Qualifier in the steeplechase, the 2024 WHAC Champion in that event, and a multi-time All-Conference honoree, Langlois has been one of the most decorated and consistent distance runners in Saints history. Academically, he is equally elite — a 2024 Academic All-American in both track and cross country and a three-time WHAC Scholar-Athlete.
Beyond the accolades, he is a person defined by curiosity and ambition. Majoring in Accounting with a minor in Economics, Langlois credits the community around him — teammates, professors, and coaches — for shaping his Aquinas experience. His passion for travel and cross-cultural learning has taken him everywhere from India to the U.K. to the Canadian Rockies, broadening his world both on and off the track.
Head Coach Mike Wojciakowski spoke highly of Langlois' leadership and drive:
"Brian sets the tone for our entire distance crew. The way he approaches training, academics, and relationships is unmatched — he raises the standard for everyone around him. He's one of those rare athletes whose effort is contagious. Our program is better because of student-athletes like Langlois."
Saint Support Superstar: Sister Mary Ann Barrett
(Alumni Engagement Officer, Institutional Advancement — and the #1 AQ Athletics Fan)
If you've attended a game at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center, chances are you've seen Sister Mary Ann Barrett in the stands — encouraging student-athletes, celebrating every big moment, and embodying what AQ community support looks like at its very best.
With more than four decades of ministry and service experience, Sister Mary Ann has dedicated her life to education, spiritual development, and strengthening the Aquinas community. A double alumna of Aquinas College with advanced degrees in theology and pastoral studies, she has served in roles spanning teaching, campus ministry, parish leadership, and now alumni engagement.
Her passion for supporting AQ students is unwavering. Whether it's a midweek basketball game, a Saturday swim meet, or a postseason celebration, Sister Mary Ann is there — cheering, smiling, and reminding Saints everywhere what it means to belong to something bigger.
Deputy Athletic Director Connor Leppink summed up her impact perfectly:
"Sister Mary Ann is the soul of Aquinas spirit. She shows up for every team, every student, every moment — because she genuinely believes in what our athletes represent. Her presence connects generations of Saints, and our department is better every day because she's part of it, not to mention the positivity and warmth that she radiates around our AQ community."
Saints Setting the Standard
Together, Dominczak, Langlois, and Sister Mary Ann showcase the very best of Aquinas College — dedication, leadership, humility, and a relentless commitment to community. Their impact stretches well beyond competition day, shaping the culture and energy that make AQ Athletics special.
Their stories remind us that excellence comes in many forms — through determination on the rink, perseverance on the track, and unwavering support in the stands. These honorees continue to set the standard for what it means to be a Saint.
