Grand Rapids, Michigan - The men's track & field team continued their indoor season by hosting the annual WHAC vs MIAA Challenge at the Alksnis Athletic & Recreation Building. The Saints hosted Cornerstone, Cleary, Siena Heights, Alma and Calvin in front of a packed house on Friday night. The Saints claimed seven first place finishes, hit one provisional qualifier and had a new school record established.

The previous school record in the 60 meter hurdles stood since 1975 until Jake Van Tassell (8.12) broke it three weeks ago at the John Flaminio Classic. This time around the record only lasted three weeks as Van Tassell bettered his time to 8.08. He won the event and improved on his provisional qualifying time for nationals. Jake is currently ranked 10th on the NAIA Performance List. Aquinas also picked up wins in the 60 meters and 200 meters. Marcus Mitchell claimed the victory in the 60 meters (7.02), while teammate Keiton Fase raced to the win in the 200 meters (22.30).  Jaben Bakker and Ethan Barker also crossed the line first in their respective events. Bakker won the 400 meters (51.52) and Barker took the top spot in the 3000 meters (8:55.16).

The Saints would also pick up a pair of wins in the field events. Emmanuel Farage would set a personal best en route to winning the pole vault with a clearance of 13-5 1/4. Jacob Merryfield led a trio of Saints that cleared 6-1 1/4 in the high jump to claim the event win.
