Grand Rapids, Michigan - The men's track & field team returned to action this weekend with a meet at Grand Valley State University. The Saints continue to impress as they head into the championship portion of their schedule. The Saints were able to score a school record, some top five All-Time performances and many personal bests.
Jake Van Tassell lowered his school record in the 110 hurdles to 14.42, while
Nathan Iacona set a lifetime best of 21.51 in the 200 meters. Iacona moved to #2 on the Saints All-Time and only trails AQ Athletic Hall of Famer, Jason Carver. Iacona would also team up with
Marcus Mitchell,
Peyhton Wade, and
Keiton Fase to run 41.31 in the 400 meter relay.
Ethan Barker also had a big night as he moved to #4 in AQ history in the 5000 meters. His performance of 14:45.52 positioned the senior from Mattawan in front of AQ greats Jeff Cherry and Pat Weiler.
The Saints also saw career best performances from
Jaben Bakker (1:54.80) and
Nolan Moffit (1:55.99) in the 800 meters.
Will VanderBor (4:04.58/1500 Meters) and
Brian Langlois (9:26.73/3000 Meter Steeplechase) also turned in strong performances for the Saints.
Aquinas will return to action this week as the Saints will compete at the WHAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Siena Heights in Adrian.
