Grand Rapids, Michigan - Yura Rozendal, the son of Mary Rozendal, has signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. Rozendal, who graduated from Grandville Calvin Christian High School, became the ninth signee of the 2024-25 recruiting class for the Aquinas College men's cross country and track & field programs.
Rozendal, who spent the last two years at Dordt University stated, "I'm excited to join the Aquinas pole vault squad—I really like the team chemistry, and being back in Grand Rapids will help me grow both athletically and professionally."
Yura, whose hobbies include soccer, singing, 3D printing, traveling and camping, has posted a personal best of 15'6'' in the pole vault. He was an All-State soccer performer at Calvin Christian and was a two-time All-GPAC selection for the Defenders of Dordt.
Yura, who was adopted from the Ukraine, is planning on studying Biology at Aquinas College.
Aquinas assistant coach
Brian Bolton commented, "The vault squad at Aquinas feels more complete with the addition of Yura. A talented athlete in his own right, our partnership already has a proven track record of success—something we're eager to build on during his time here. It's been a while since Aquinas has been in the national championship conversation for pole vault, but Yura brings both the ability and the heart to help change that. I'm excited to watch him grow as a leader within this team and to help shape him into a high-caliber athlete who can leave a lasting mark on this program."
