Grand Rapids, Mich. – Aquinas Women's Rugby is excited to welcome standout student-athletes Drew Dauser and Lilly Stough to the Saints family. Both athletes bring incredible energy, leadership, and high-level experience that will strengthen the team on and off the field. Their passion for the game and commitment to excellence make them perfect fits for the culture being built at Aquinas.
Lilly Stough, from Waverly-Shell Rock, Iowa, is a dynamic all-around athlete with a fierce competitive edge and relentless drive. A three-time First Team All-State honoree, Lilly helped lead her high school team to a state championship title in rugby and competed at the national level as a member of the Midwest Thunderbirds and the USA Rugby development pathway. Her athleticism doesn't stop on the pitch, she also finished her high school wrestling career ranked 15th in the nation, proving her toughness and versatility.
Lilly is expected to make an immediate impact on the field as both a leader and a playmaker. Her ability to create scoring opportunities and connect with teammates will be a major asset to the Saints' back line this season. Off the field, she brings a 4.2 GPA and a tireless work ethic. Alongside fellow recruits like Drew and Abby, Lilly is eager to help elevate the Aquinas rugby program and even hopes to start a women's wrestling club on campus during the off-season.
Drew Dauser, a Rockford, Michigan native, joins Aquinas with a championship mindset and deep rugby roots. A four-time state champion, Drew has represented the USA U18 team in international competition and helped lead Atlantis 7's to a title at the NY 7's tournament. As a member of the Midwest Thunderbirds, she has competed against some of the nation's best, earning a reputation for her tenacity, powerful runs, and dominant scrum work.
While Drew will start her first year sidelined due to injury, her leadership will be felt immediately. A former captain for both the Thunderbirds and Rockford women's rugby, she'll play a key role in team culture, player development, and supporting her teammates throughout the season. As she recovers, Drew remains fully committed to helping the team grow and improve in every way possible.
Both Lilly and Drew understand the dedication it takes to balance college life, national-level rugby, and personal goals. With the support of coaches, family, and teammates—and their own relentless drive—they are poised to make a lasting impact on Aquinas Women's Rugby.
