Syracuse, NY — The Aquinas women's rugby team showed fight and growth as they opened their three-game stretch on the road. The Saints battled Syracuse to a draw, came up just short against Binghamton, and closed with a shutout victory over the University of Buffalo.
Aquinas 10, Syracuse 10
The Saints opened their campaign with a hard-fought tie against Syracuse. Jayana Williams and Abigail Wegener each crossed the try line, giving AQ valuable momentum throughout the contest. The teams were evenly matched ending with Aquinas grinding out a 10–10 result to start the weekend on level terms.
Binghamton 12, Aquinas 10
In their second matchup, the Saints continued to showcase their attacking creativity. Wegener notched her second try of the trip, and Jeanette Aldana powered through to add another. Despite their efforts, AQ fell narrowly, 12–10.
Aquinas 29, Buffalo 0
The Saints closed their stretch with a strong performance, blanking Buffalo in a 29–0 shutout. Williams scored her second try of the weekend, followed by scores from Kayla Herrer, Taryn MacMillan, and Aaliyah Morin. Ayiana Pansang-Rangel added two conversions to cap off the dominant showing, as Aquinas controlled every phase of play on both sides of the ball.
