Box Score 2 The women's tennis team opened its season with a split of its two matches in Indiana last weekend. The Saints are 1-1 and will be back in action this weekend.
The Saints opened play for the 2019-20 season with a matchup with Indiana Wesleyan. The Wildcats claimed a 7-0 victory by sweeping all six singles matches and winning the team doubles point after claiming all three doubles matchups.
Later that afternoon, the Saints turned things around and claimed a 5-2 victory over their weekend hosts, Goshen College. The Saints won the doubles team point after sweeping all three doubles matchups.
Kiara Berry and
Joska Volder won in #1 doubles 7-5, #2 doubles went to
Bailey Chouinard and
Darci TerHaar 6-3, and
Vanessa Heylmun and
Grace Kelly won #3 doubles 6-1.
The Saints won four of the six singles matchups to earn the win on the day. Volder won 6-0, 6-1 in #1 singles, while TerHaar claimed a 6-0, 6-3 win in #2 singles.
Sara Forletta was victorious 6-3, 6-1, and Heylmun also posted a win 6-4, 6-1.
