Louisville, Kentucky - The Women's Cross Country team was down south this weekend, when they competed at the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Kentucky. The women placed 18th out of 45 teams in their race, which featured schools from multiple different divisions.
Winning the Invite was the Taylor Trojans with a score of 67 points compared to the Saints' score of 574. With a team time of 1:34:14, the Saints averaged a time of 19:14 with a spread of 2:07 from their first to fifth runner.
Leading the Way for the Saints was fifth year student,
Maggie Whitney. This was Whitney's first time leading the Saints this season and she did so with a time of 18:08 placing her 14th. Then
Hannah Adler was next for the Saints when she finished 37th with a time of 18:33. Finishing with a time of 19:37, was freshman
Molly Harding. Harding's time placed her 149th overall. She was followed closely by
Hanna Grant who finished 154th and did so with a time of 19:40. Rounding out the top five was
Kaitlyn Thomas with a time of 20:15.
Mallory Bowker and
Claire Walton completed the top seven for Aquinas. Bowker finished 246th with a time of 20:30 and Walton finished 269th with a time of 20:42.
The women will continue training for the next two weeks until the MCC Jayhawk Invitational. The invite will take place in Muskegon, Michigan.
