Adrian, Michigan - The women's cross country team returned to form en route to a runner-up finish at yesterdays WHAC Championships held at Heritage Park. The Saints tallied 50 points, only trailing 6th ranked Cornerstone in the final results.
Madison Rempalski led the way for the Saints by covering the 6000 meter course in a personal best time of 21:24. Her third place finish garnered her All-WHAC First Team honors. Sharing All-WHAC First Team accolades was
Amber Koole, who placed sixth in a time of 22:02. The duo of
Ella Koons (22:26) and
Lauren Wooer (22:43) followed Madi and Amber through the finish chute as they placed 12th and 15th respectively. Koons was named Second Team All-WHAC for her performance. The fifth scoring position was recorded by
Anna Tubbergen, who placed 19th in a time 23:11.
Katrina Amrhein was named Aquinas' Champion of Character representative.
Also contributing to Aquinas' top seven were
Claire O'Boyle, who finished 28th in a time of 23:38 and
Noelle House (36th place), who crossed the line in 23:56.
A total of 94 individuals competed for 11 different programs.
The women's cross country team also had a total of ten student-athletes earn a spot on the WHAC's All-Academic Team.
