Women's Cross Country Places Fourth at MCC Jayhawk Invite

After two weeks away from competition, the women's cross country team was back in action as they raced at the MCC Jayhawk Invitational. With many members of the team resting today, the Saints still placed fourth overall in the nine team meet.

Winning the meet was Lansing with a total of 35 points. Grand Valley State (52 points) and Hope (83 points) finished in front of the Saints. AQ finished with 89 points for the fourth place finish.

Freshman, Molly Harding was first across the line for the Saints as she placed seventh with a time of 19:08. Close behind her was fellow freshman Kaitlyn Thomas. Thomas ran the 5k race in a time of 19:18, placing her 11th. Then junior Mallory Bowker was able to sneak under 20:00 with a time of 19:58. This new personal best placed her 25th in the race.  Claire Walton and Hannah Stitt were the last scoring Saints in. With times of 20:09 and 20:20, the duo placed 29th and 33rd.

Anna Fedewa and Riley Delore rounded out the top seven for AQ. They finished with times of 20:29 and 20:31 respectively.

Aquinas will be back in action next week, when they host the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge. The race will host many nationally ranked teams and will take place at Riverside Park on Saturday, October 22.
