Women's Cross Country Places 3rd at WHAC Championships

The #20 women's cross country team began post-season competition today at the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships. The Saints placed third in the 5K race that featured ten conference schools.
 
Winning the conference title was cross town rival, #5 Cornerstone, with 30 points. They were followed up by the Indiana Tech Warriors with 47 points. AQ placed third with 58 points. They did so with athletes finishing 2nd, 5th, 14th, 18th, and 20th. Siena Heights (130 points) and Lawrence Tech (142 points) round out the top five.
 
The first athlete across the line for the Saints was fifth-year runner Hannah Adler. By averaging 5:55 per mile, Adler finished with a time of 18:21. This time earned her the second overall finish. Maggie Whitney would come in shortly after Adler at 18:44. Whitney finished fifth in the race. The Saints would then have a 1:05 gap between their second and third runners. Hanna Grant would come in at 19:49 to place 14th overall. Then, freshmen Molly Harding and Kaitlyn Thomas would round out the Saints scorers. Harding would come across the line at 20:10 placing 18th and Thomas would place 20th with a time of 20:24.
 
Hannah Stitt was sixth for the Saints when she placed 30th with a time of 20:49. Freshman Mallory Bowker wrapped up the top seven for AQ. She placed 32nd with a time of 20:56.

Women's All-Academic Team (Junior or above in academic standing with minimum 3.25 GPA on 4.0 scale and in attendance at nominating school for one full year)

Once the women receive a bid to the national competition, 8 runners will head down to Tallahassee, Florida for NAIA National Championship. The race will take place on November 18, at the Apalachee Regional Park at 9:30 AM
