RESULTS
Allendale, Michigan — The Aquinas men's and women's track and field teams opened their 2022-2023 seasons yesterday at the GVSU Holiday Open. With less than ten athletes competing on the day, the Saints had a great showing with multiple national qualifiers and top-five all time performances.
Hannah Adler highlighted the weekend when she competed in the second heat of the 5K. With her time of 17:34 she placed eighth in the race, but more importantly hit the NAIA A standard in the event. With this time, she now sits second on the AQ Indoor All -Time List behind Kathy Middaugh with her time of 17:26.
Connor Callahan was the first highlight on the men's side for AQ. Competing in the 5K, Callahan ran a time of 14:53 to place 5th overall in the race. His time earned him a provisional qualifier in the event. He then placed himself 3rd on the AQ time list. He sits behind Brian Lehmkuhle (14:42) and Scott Assenmacher (14:51) on the all-time list.
Ben Peterson competed in the fourth heat of the event finishing with a time of 15:42.
Freshman,
Nathan Iacona made a splash in his first collegiate race. Competing in the 400-meter dash, Iacona finished with a time of 49.76. This ranks him 5th all time and he will look to continue climbing throughout his career.
Jacob Tenbusch was also in the event and finished with a time of 50.32.
Maggie Whitney was in action in the evening in the 3K. She was close to a national standard finishing with a time of 10:26.
Cyrus Prudhomme was the last Saint in action on the day, competing in the 200 meter dash. He finished with a time of 22.62.
The Saints will be back in action Friday, December 16 for the Maroon vs. Grey vs. Alumni Meet. The meet will take place at 5:00 PM.
