The men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, that are being hosted at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, South Dakota. The Saints will send nine women and 15 men to the national competition.

The 5K hosts two Saints in
Hannah Adler and
Molly Harding in the highly competitive field. Adler goes in ranked third nationally after breaking the school record earlier this season with a time of 17:05.
Molly Harding then ranks 13th with at time of 17:51. Harding is the third fastest Saint in AQ history in the event.

Maggie Whitney then enters the 800 Meter Run with a Seed time of 2:14.8. This puts her fourth as of right now. Last year in this event, Whitney was the national champion in a tight race with a time of 2:13 and she hopes to defend her crown. Â

AQ's women rank fifth in the DMR with a seed time of 12:04.33. Adler, Whitney, and Harding are all eligible for the relay along with
Kaitlyn Thomas,
Ronnie McMillan,
Lauren Wooer, and
Theresa Judd. A combination of these seven athletes will compete in Thursday's prelim as they hope to qualify Saturday's final.

In the field events,
Shaily Baynes was able to qualify at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic with a vault of 3.43 meters hitting a provisional qualifier.

Then at the WHAC Championships,
Rebecca Beltran hit a qualifier in the shot put. She enters nationals with a mark of 13.03 meters.

Men
Â
The Men's team will send three relays to this year's Indoor Nationals. The first of which come in the form of the 4x400 Meter Relay. AQ sits 14th with a time of 3:18. The team of
Nathan Iacona,
Cyrus Prudhomme,
Caleb Hodgkinson, and
Jacob Tenbusch qualified at Bill Clinger Classic at the end of January.
Jacob Tenbusch,
Jake Van Tassell,
Zander Masten, and
Will Finch will serve as alternates for the event.

Then at the WHAC Championships Hodgkinson, Finch, Masten, and
Rob Lohr were able to qualify the men's 4x800 meter relay with a time of 7:44. They rank sixth currently.
Liam Kelly,
Connor Clemens,
Will Westveer, and
Juan David Hernandez will serve as possible alternates for the race.

The final relay is the Distance Medley Relay. At the GVSU Big Meet the team of
Caleb Hodgkinson,
Jake Van Tassell,
Will Finch and
Connor Clemens qualified with a time of 10:07. They are currently ranked seventh.
Connor Callahan,
Liam Kelly, Lohr, and Iacona, will serve as alternates.

Connor Callahan was one of the first Saints to hit a national qualifier this year, when he did so in the 5K at the GVSU Holiday Open. His time of 14:53 places him 17th in the 35-man field.

In the 1K,
Ben Hardy enters with a time of 2:29. He will compete at 3:30 PM in Friday's Prelim.

After breaking the school record multiple times this season, freshman
Nathan Iacona ranks 12th in the 400 Meter Dash. He does so with a time of 48.54.

Finally,
Jesunifemi Ojutalayo looks to pull off the impressive "double" when competing in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. Ojutalayo ranks 11th in the Long Jump with a mark of 7.16 meters and 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 14.77 meters.

The Saints begin competition tomorrow with preliminaries for all relays and the 5,000 Meter Run beginning at 2:00 PM. Competition will carry through Saturday, March 4.
