Allendale, Michigan -Â The women's track & field team traveled to Grand Valley State University this afternoon for the annual Bob Eubanks Open. Aquinas saw many outstanding performances to open the 2024 portion of their indoor track & field schedule.
The women's throw crew highlighted the efforts for the Saints on this afternoon. In her collegiate debut,
Maelie Hope showcased her talents with big throws in both the weight throw and the shot put. Hope recorded marks of 50-11 in the weight throw and 38-7 3/4 in shot.Â
Rebecca Beltran also had a strong start to her season with tosses of 40-1 1/4 in the shot put and 47-5 in the weight throw.Â
Robin Long also posted a personal best of 47-3 in the weight throw.
Ronnie McMillan paced the Saints on the track as she turned in solid efforts in both the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay. McMillan placed 3rd in the 400 meters with a time of 58.86 and ran the quickest leg for the Saints in the 4x400 relay.
Theresa Judd placed second in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 9.39, while
Lauren Wooer led a strong showing in the women's 600 meters with a time of 1:41.16. Aquinas also saw an outstanding performance by
Anna Fedewa in the Mile as she won her heat in a big personal best of 5:29.65.
Aquinas will return to action next Friday as the Saints host the John Flaminio Classic at the Alksnis Athletic and Recreation Building. The meet will begin at 5 p.m.
