Grand Rapids, Michigan - Jackie Applewhite, the daughter of Felicia and David Applewhite, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. Applewhite, who recently graduated from GR Catholic Central High School, became the seventh signee of the 2025-26 recruiting class for the Aquinas College women's cross country and track & field programs.
Applewhite referenced Proverbs with, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."
Applewhite, who enjoys theater, musicals, singing, reading, and art, has posted personal bests of 13.31 (100 meters) and 27.81 (200 meters) on the track.Â
Jackson Fox, head cross country and track & field coach at GR Catholic Central and Aquinas XC/TF alum added, "Jackie Applewhite has demonstrated steady growth as a track and field athlete, showing commitment through continued competition and performance development during her career as a Catholic Central Cougar. I am looking forward to seeing Jackie continue to develop as a sprinter for the Saint's track and field team."
Applewhite has seven siblings named Tyler, Tevin, David, Tayia, Noah, Colleagues, and Jeremiah and she plans on majoring in Theater at Aquinas College.
Aquinas associate head coach Kevin Winne commented, "We are excited to add Jackie to our sprint crew. She has shown steady improvement through her high school career, and with continued hard work I believe that will continue at the collegiate level."
