Saints Host John Flaminio Classic

Grand Rapids, Michigan - The women's track & field team returned to action tonight as the Saints played host to the 3rd Annual John Flaminio Classic. Aquinas welcomed Siena Heights, Cleary, Grace Christian and Southwestern Michigan College to the Alksnis Athletic and Recreation Building. Aquinas tallied four first place finishes on the night.

Ronnie McMillan claimed top prize in her 600 meter debut. She crossed the line in 1:40.16 to lead an Aquinas 1-2-3 sweep in the event. The Saints would also score a first in the women's 4x400 meter relay. The quartet of Lauren Wooer, Carolyn Bennett, Ella Koons, and Zee Simpson finished in a time of 4:33.98.

In the field, the Saints recorded the top spots in both the weight throw and the long jump. Maelie Hope's toss of 50-5 1/4 was nearly four feet ahead of the nearest competitor and Kaylee Diamond won the long jump with a mark of 17-8 1/4.

Aquinas will now look ahead as they prep for the Bill Clinger Classic hosted by GVSU next Friday.
