Grand Rapids, Michigan - The women's track & field team returned to action this evening as the Saints hosted the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic. The Alksnis Athletic and Recreation Building provided the backdrop for an entertaining evening of some of the finest small college track and field that West Michigan has to offer. Aquinas collected three first place finishes, two top five performances and two qualifiers for the NAAI National Championships.
Ronnie McMillan, who recently broke the 400 meter school record, continued her fantastic season with an automatic qualifier in the 600 meters. Her time of 1:36.09 moved her up to 5th on the Saints All-TIme List surpassing the effort of AQ Athletic Hall of Famer, Natalie Kent. Ronnie's time currently has her slated at #7 on the NAIA Performance List in the 600 meters.
Kaylee Diamond also recorded a qualifying mark as she hit the "B" standard in the long jump. Her jump of 18-1 3/4 moves her up to #4 on the Saints All-Time List. Kaylee would win the event and also take home first in the triple jump.
Madison Rempalski would also secure a win for the Saints in the 3000 meters.
The Saints will resume competitions next weekend as they host the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge and travel to the GVSU "Big Meet".
