Kaylee Diamond Named WHAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Diamond continues to impress in her junior year with the #1 high jump mark in the nation.

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Wolverines-Hoosier Athletic Conference office announced its best players of the week across all sports yesterday afternoon (Apr. 15). After another incredible performance from Kaylee Diamond, she was named the Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. This is the first time that Diamond has been named a WHAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

On April 6th, Diamond earned an automatic qualifying mark in the high jump with a 5' 7" performance at the GVSU Early Meet. She improved upon that mark this past weekend (Apr. 13) with an incredible series of performances.

The Lowell native recorded a 5' 9.75" high jump, winning the DU Panther Classic and recording the number one performance in the NAIA this season, besting the athlete in second place by two inches. This 5' 9.75" high jump also broke her previous Aquinas record by an inch.

She also won the triple jump competition and placed third in the long jump. Diamond jumped 18' 8" for a provisional nationals qualifier and is now second in the AQ record books for the long jump.

Diamond and the rest of the track and field team will look to continue to impress next weekend (Apr. 19-20) at the GVSU Al Owens Classic.
