Allendale, Michigan - The women's track & field team ushered in the 2025-26 season with some outstanding performances at the SVSU Holiday Open & Multis and the GVSU Holiday Open. The Saints saw many personal bests, a school record, new entrants to the top five list and multiple national qualifying performances.
Lindsey Strutz broke her own school record at the SVSU Holiday Open & Multis. Strutz recorded 3,553 points en route to a first place finish over the five events. Currently Lindsey has the second highest point total in the country for the pentathlon.
Maelie Hope also secured a spot to the Indoor National Championships as she hit the "A" standard in the weight throw. Her toss of 58-10 improves her #2 mark on the Saints All-Time List and has her currently seeded second on the NAIA Performance List. The big day in the field events continued as
Alexis Furgason cleared 5-5 3/4 to hit the provisional qualifier in the high jump. The height also moves Lexi to #4 on Aquinas' All-Time List in the women's high jump. Her jump has her ranked third in the nation in her specialty event.
Maria Skrycki also had a big "PR" as she recorded a mark of 45-1/4 in the weight throw.
After an All American season in cross country
Madison Rempalski picked up right where she left off and tallied the #5 time in school history in the 3,000 meters. Her time of 10:09.16 currently ranks her third in the NAIA.
Lauren Wooer hit a personal best in the Mile as her 5:13.03 has her ranked sixth in the country.
The Saints will return to action after the Christmas holiday to compete in the John Flaminio Classic on January 16th.
