Calena Foster Signs With AQ Women's Track & Field

Grand Rapids, Michigan - Calena Foster, the daughter of Jacquelyn Williams, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Aquinas College.  Foster, who recently graduated from Byron Center High School, became the ninth signee of the 2024-25 recruiting class for the Aquinas College women's cross country and track & field programs.

Foster stated, "I chose Aquinas because I know I could have a better opportunity to grow in track as well as expand my love for teaching."

Calena, who enjoys being outside, dancing, and writing, has posted personal bests of 12.82 (100 Meters) and 27.16 (200 Meters).  She also was a major contributor on the Bulldogs 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays. Foster was a key piece of conference championship and state qualifying performances recorded by Bryon Center over the last couple of seasons.

C.J. Paciencia, sprints coach at Byron Center High School commented, "Calena Foster is probably one of the most athletically gifted sprinters I've had the opportunity to Coach. I can't wait to see her achieve her true potential."

Calena has two siblings named Faith and Charity and she plans on majoring in Elementary Education at Aquinas College.

Aquinas associate head coach Kevin Winne added, "We are excited to welcome Calena to Aquinas. Calena is a talented athlete that I believe will be able to help out our relays immediately. I look forward to working with her over these next four years."
