Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Aquinas College women's basketball team had a hard-fought contest in today's (Nov. 8) matchup against the No. 10-ranked Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats. The Saints battled through a competitive first half, holding a brief lead in the second quarter before the nationally ranked Wildcats pulled away in the second half to take a 68–47 win

The Saints came out strong in the opening quarter, matching Indiana Wesleyan point for point early on with a jumper from Isabel Reemsnyder and a layup from Paige Guernsey. A basket from Hannah Gillette briefly gave AQ a 6–4 lead before the Wildcats closed the quarter ahead 20–12 after a late scoring run.
Aquinas opened the second quarter with renewed energy, scoring the first five points behind a Guernsey three-pointer and a jumper from Hope Kanouse to pull within one at 20–19. The Saints continued to battle, and a deep three from Reemsnyder pushed AQ ahead 24–23. The Saints held the advantage until a last-second IWU layup gave the Wildcats a narrow 29–28 edge going into halftime.
Indiana Wesleyan caught fire from beyond the arc to start the second half, extending their lead to 42–30. MJ Mikus halted the run with a free throw before Reemsnyder responded with a three-pointer and a strong and-one finish to keep AQ in the fight, trailing 57–37 after three quarters. Rhema Dozier opened the fourth with a jumper, followed by a three from Leah French to cut the deficit to 61–42. Gillette then connected from deep, and Brynn Reams added a layup late, but the Wildcats secured the 68–47 win.
