Fort Wayne, Indiana - The women's track & field team concluded the two day WHAC Indoor Championships with a fifth place finish. The Saints tallied 84 points and recorded one conference champion on the day. Madonna won the meet with 184 points.
Maelie Hope was named the conference's Most Valuable Performer as she totaled 25 points. In addition to winning the shot put and weight throw, she placed fourth in today's 60 meters (7.80).
Aquinas would receive a conference champion performance from
Lauren Wooer in the 1,000 meters. Wooer clocked a time of 3:04.16 to secure the victory. She also would place sixth in the Mile (5:21.37) and she would team up with
Sophia Schrauben,
Amber Koole, and
Cadence Schultz to place fifth in the 1600 meter relay (4:12.44).
Koole would also score in the 600 (3rd - 1:40.93) and the 1,000 meters (8th - 3:12.57), while Schultz placed fifth in the 600 in a time of 1:42.28. The Saints also received a seventh place finish from
Madison Rempalski in the 1,000 meters (3:11.32).
The lone field event on the day was the triple jump. The Saints scored two places as
Lindsey Strutz (6th - 34-1 ¾) and
Presley Avery (8th - 31-8 ¾) both recorded scoring efforts for the Saints.
Jordan Brown was named Aquinas' Champions of Character representative.
Aquinas will now switch their attention to the NAIA National Championships that will be contested in Gainesville, Florida in two weeks.
