Grand Rapids, MI - In the second edition of the USTFCCCA NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Ratings, the Aquinas College women jumped four spots to #7 in the latest rating. After a successful meet this past weekend at home, the Saints accumulated 108.28 points in the computer generated rating.
Central Methodist currently holds the top spot with 186.87 points, while fellow WHAC competitor Indiana Tech checks in at #8 with 107.85 points.
The Saints feature many standout athletes who are highly ranked on the national performance list.
Lindsey Strutz currently is ranked second in the pentathlon with 3,553 points. While
Maelie Hope cracks the top ten in two different events. Hope is ranked second in the weight throw (61-4) and ninth in the shot put (44-6 1/4). Both
Alexis Furgason and
Madison Rempalski are seeded fifth on the national performance list. Furgason in the high jump (5-6 1/2), while Rempalski (5:00.92) holds the #5 spot in the mile. Rempalski also adds to the Saints point total in the 1,000 meters and 3,000 meters. Aquinas' jump in the ratings was keyed by the women's 4x800 meter relay that currently is seeded second on the national performance list. The quartet of

Amber Koole, and
Lauren Wooer teamed up to cover the distance in 9:25.49.
The Saints will look to continue to ascend in the rankings when they travel to Grand Valley State on Saturday to compete in the Mike Lints Alumni Open.
