Allendale, Mich. – The Aquinas women's track and field team traveled to Grand Valley State University on Saturday for the annual Mike Lints Alumni Open. The Saints delivered an impressive showing, highlighted by a first-place finish, a national qualifying mark, a top five addition, and numerous season and lifetime bests.
The standout event for Aquinas was the women's 800 meters, where Lauren Wooer hit the NAIA "B" standard as she placed 3rd in a time of 2:16.62. Lexi Hurst recorded a lifetime best as she placed 5th in 2:18.11. Madison Rempalski moved up one spot on the Saints All-Time List as she now sits in fourth in the 3000 meters with a new personal best of 10:03.89. Sophia Schrauben also had a strong season debut in the 400 meters where she placed ninth in a time of 1:00.24.Â
In the field events, Alexis Furgason highlighted for the Saints as she was clean through 5-5 ¼ in the high jump to best a field of 14 women.
The Saints will return to action next weekend as they host the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge and compete at the GVSU Big Meet.
