Aquinas Hosts WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge

Grand Rapids, Michigan - The women's track & field team continued their indoor season by hosting the annual WHAC vs MIAA Challenge at the Alksnis Athletic & Recreation Building. The Saints hosted Cornerstone, Cleary, Siena Heights, Indiana Tech, Rochester, Madonna, Alma, Adrian, Albion, Olivet and Calvin in front of a packed house on Friday night. The Saints claimed four first place finishes and established many season and lifetime bests.

The Saints would take the gold medal in the 1000 meters, the mile, 3000 meters and high jump on Friday evening. Lexi Hurst, a sophomore from East Kentwood High School, would win the 1000 meters in 3:06.48. The mile top spot was claimed by junior, Carolyn Bennett. Her time of 5:38.41 secured the victory, while Madison Rempalski would win the 3000 meters in 10:21.42.  Alexis Furgason would win the high jump with a clearance of 5-5 to win her signature event.

Aquinas will return to action next Friday and Saturday when they host the WHAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
