Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Aquinas College men's lacrosse team continued its strong run through conference play with an impressive victory over the Siena Heights Saints. Aquinas remained disciplined throughout the contest, moving the ball well and creating opportunities across the field as the team built momentum while looking forward to its next challenge against conference opponent Indiana Tech.
Aquinas 23, Siena Heights 8
Aquinas Saints opened the game with control as William Larriuz secured the opening faceoff, setting the tone early. Ian Wright capitalized shortly after, finding the back of the net to give Aquinas a quick 1–0 lead.
The Saints continued to apply pressure as Braeden Williams added a goal off a pass from Mitchell Pridgeon. Just six seconds later, Williams returned the favor, assisting Oliver Modderman to push the lead to 3–0. Pridgeon followed with a goal of his own before Collin Wildman added another score off an assist from Dillon Wieschhorster to extend the advantage to 5–0.
TJ Steenland forced a turnover that led to Evan Doan's lone goal of the game. Tobin Brems collected a ground ball to give AQ possession once again and Modderman capitalized with a man-up goal to make it 7–0. Aquinas continued its strong start as Modderman and Jake Koning connected on back-to-back goals, sending the Saints into the second quarter with a commanding 9–0 lead while Austin Hynote held the Warriors scoreless in the opening frame.
Carter Braam entered in goal for Aquinas in the second quarter, and Siena Heights found its first goal of the game to make it 9–1. Koning quickly responded with a goal assisted by Modderman to restore the nine-goal lead. Blake Szymanski forced a turnover to give the Saints possession again, leading to Koning's third goal of the night.
Cooper Croskey collected a ground ball to keep the offense moving before Eli Smith added a solo goal. Siena Heights managed two late scores in the quarter, but TJ Murphy answered to give Aquinas a 13–3 advantage. Williams added two quick goals to close out the half as the Saints carried a 15–4 lead into the break.
Austin Klingelsmith checked in for Aquinas in the third quarter as Siena Heights added an early goal. Wieschhorster responded with a goal assisted by Wright to extend the lead to 16–5. Siena Heights attempted to build momentum with another score, but Murphy answered again with his second goal of the contest.
Koning continued his strong performance with another goal, assisted by Cory Holmes, before Murphy completed his hat trick. Owen Greiner added his first goal of the game to give Aquinas a 19–6 advantage heading into the final quarter.
Liam Fyvie stepped in between the pipes for the Saints in the fourth quarter. Conner Frisch and Cullen Gaves each created scoring opportunities, while Koning added another goal to continue the offensive surge. Jack Jeffreys secured a faceoff win to maintain possession, leading to another goal from Murphy.
Siena Heights added one more goal late in the game, but Koning capped off the scoring for Aquinas with his sixth goal of the night as the Saints closed out the 23–8 conference victory.

"We played a really complete game tonight," said head coach Peter Treppa. "The ball movement was strong, we shared the scoring, and the guys stayed disciplined on both ends of the field. It's encouraging to see the group continue to grow and execute as we head into another tough conference matchup."
