Gainesville, Florida - The men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Gainesville, Florida. The Alachua County Sports & Events Center will provide the backdrop for the NAIA's finest track and field athletes. The Saints have sent ten women and five men to the championships.
Women
The Saints will showcase a trio of women in the multis and field events.
Maelie Hope enters the weight throw competition as the second seed. Her toss of 61- 1.75 is the current school record. Hope will also compete in the shot put where she is seeded 14th.
Alexis Furgason will compete in the high jump. She has a season and personal best of 5-6.5 and is tied for eighth on the declaration list. She has moved up to #3 on the Saints All-Time List. The Saints will also feature
Lindsey Strutz in the women's pentathlon. Strutz is seeded third with a 3,553 point effort from earlier this season.
The individual track events will feature
Madison Rempalski. Rempalski, who won the WHAC title in the 5,000 meters and the mile, enters the championships as the fourth seed in the mile with a time of 5:00.08. She will also be teaming up with
Ella Koons,
Sophia Schrauben, and
Lauren Wooer in the women's distance medley relay. The Saints are seeded fifth with a time of 12:02.82. Wooer will join forces with
Lexi Hurst,
Cadence Schultz, and
Amber Koole in the 4x800 meter relay. The Saints are seeded second with a time of 9:15.00.
Men
The men's contingent will feature one individual running event, one relay, and one entry in a field event.
Zander Masten, who is coming off a fantastic conference meet, will compete in the 1,000 meters. He will also lead off the 4x800 meter relay with
Alex Dumont,
Jaben Bakker, and
Jack Phillips.
Jalen Radke will compete for the Saints in the long jump.
