Grand Rapids, Michigan - The women's track & field team returned to action this weekend with a meet at Grand Valley State University. The Saints continue to impress as they head into the championship portion of their schedule. The Saints were able to score a pair of national qualifiers, an All-Time performance and many personal bests.
Madison Rempalski, the last Saint to compete on Saturday, posted a personal best of 17:15.14 in the 5000 meters to hit the provisional qualifier for Nationals. Her time moved her up to #2 on the Saints All-TIme List passing Aquinas greats, Carly Plank and Hannah Adler. The Saints also saw big performances from
Ella Koons in the 1500 meters (4:46.02) and
Lauren Wooer in the 800 meters (2:13.63). The sprint crew had a big day and was led by
Kariesue Taghon's double of 12.75 (100 meters) and 25.94 (200 meters).
Theresa Judd paced the hurdlers with a time of 14.78 in the 100 meter highs.
Maelie Hope anchored the Saints attack in the field events with success in a trio of events. She improved her provisional qualifier in the discus with a toss of 154-6. She also delivered a 178-3 in the hammer and 40-2.25 in the shot.
Aquinas will return to action on Thursday as the Saints will compete at the WHAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne.
