Men's Track and Field Adds Carl Flinton

Grand Rapids, Michigan - Carl Flinton, the son of Chelsea Flinton, has signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. Flinton, who recently graduated from Holt High School, became the ninth signee of the 2025-26 recruiting class for the Aquinas College men's cross country and track & field programs.

Flinton simply stated, "I have a chance to know what a throwing family feels like with people to help me get to the goals I have and to push me continuously."

Carl, who considers eating one of his hobbies, has posted personal bests that include 179-5 (Discus) and 55-4.5 (Shot Put). He has qualified for the State Finals three times in the discus and twice in shot. Flinton also claimed regional titles in both the discus and the shot put. Carl has garnered Academic honors the past two seasons.

Carl has two siblings named Calvin and Cora and he is undecided about his major at Aquinas College.

Aquinas assistant coach Ralph Neal commented, "Carl is a dynamic athlete that will adjust well to the college implements. He is a student of the sport and is process driven."
