Faber Breaks Own Pole Vault School Record at Day One of Jets Pizza Invitational

DMR Team, Hunter and Brandonisio Hit Qualifying Marks

The Aquinas women's track and field team competed at day one of the SVSU Jets Pizza Invitational in Saginaw, Michigan on Friday (Jan. 24).
 
Victoria Faber broke her own school record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.87 meters (12-8 1/4) to improve on her "A" standard mark. It is currently the highest vault in the country. 
 
The Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team of Whitney Taylor, Nicole Diekema, Maggie Whitney and Tannah Adgate achieved an "A" standard time crossing the line in 12:19.59. The team came in second place at the meet.
 
Tyra Hunter hit the "A" standard in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.99 seconds to qualify for March's NAIA National Championships in Brookings, South Dakota. She placed fourth overall in the preliminary round and qualified for the finals.
 
Gabby Brandonisio had a time of 18:09.18 in the 5000 meters to obtain an "A" standard qualifying mark. She finished in fourth place overall in the event.
 
The Saints are at day two of the SVSU Jets Pizza Invitational tomorrow (Jan. 25) beginning at 11:00 AM.
