The Aquinas women's track and field team concluded the indoor season on Saturday (Mar. 7) at day three of the NAIA Indoor Championships in Brookings, South Dakota. AQ took part in two national final events.

AQ finished 12th overall with 22 points and were the third highest ranked WHAC team behind eighth place Cornerstone (26 points) and third place Indiana Tech (57 points). Huntington won the national championship with 77 points. Four Saints athletes earned All-American honors as the team improved its national championship by two spots from 14th place a year ago.

Tyra Hunter achieved All-American status in the 60 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.76 seconds. She came in fifth place and beat her preliminary time of 8.79 seconds and a previous best of 8.77 seconds. She is #5 on the AQ All-Time List.

Payton Klein and
Crystal Goyette are All-Americans in the high jump. Klein had a height of 1.71 meters (5-7 1/4) to match her AQ record and claim fourth-place. Goyette placed sixth with a mark of 1.68 meters (5-6 1/4) to improve her #2 jump on the AQ All-Time list.

Victoria Faber won the national championship and became an All-American in the pole vault on Friday.

The Saints look forward to the outdoor season that begins on April 3rd with the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing on April 3rd and 4th.

Tea Romanowski has already qualified for the marathon at the 2020 NAIA Outdoor Championships with a time of 1:24.13 (6:25 pace) at the Myrtle Beach 1/2 marathon on Saturday. She is third on the NAIA performance list.
