Getting AQuainted with Amy Jacobson

We recently started a new series called "Getting AQuainted With…" as a way for our fans to get to know our Aquinas head coaches on a few professional topics and through some more light-hearted questions.

Name: Amy Jacobson

Hometown: Three Rivers, Michigan

Alma Mater / Year / Major: Aquinas, 2013, Psychology / Davenport, 2014, Medical Case Management

What is your favorite thing about being a head coach at Aquinas? Being able to assist with each athlete's journey in their athletic, academic, and personal growth is inspiring and I love aiding in the development of the sport within the NAIA. There's also the culture at Aquinas that really sets us apart from anywhere else I've worked.

What is your top memory from your time at AQ? My first year as head coach, we went to NCA Nationals in Daytona with only 10 girls and that whole season is one of my favorites, right along with coaching the first team to ever qualify for the NAIA Nationals!

Your favorite:

Musical artist/band? The 1975, City and Colour

Movie? White Chicks

TV Show? Friends

Meal? Chicken Shawarma

Restaurant? Jaku

Sports team (non AQ)? HPU Cheer (before they were A&T)!

What have you been watching during quarantine? Too much Netflix

What is something about you that would surprise most people? I've been skydiving

What is your hidden talent? I think being a cheerleader has given me some pretty cool "talents" like tumbling, being thrown in the air, or lifting others!

If you could go on vacation anywhere and price was not a factor, where would you go? Maldives

What would you be if you weren't a coach? Something in the mental health field

What was your first job? Working at Goldie's, my family's restaurant

If resources and time weren't factors, what would you like to cross off your bucket list? Going to South Korea to learn more about where I was born
