Allendale, Michigan -Â The men's track & field team traveled to Grand Valley State University on Friday afternoon for the annual Bill Clinger Classic. Aquinas saw many outstanding performances, tallied numerous personal bests, and recorded an event win in the long jump.
The field events were highlighted by
Jalen Radke's event win in the long jump. Radke was once again over the 23 foot mark as he claimed the top spot with a jump of 23-0.5. A trio of Saints cleared 14-4 in the pole vault as
Jesse Henderson,
Joe Farage, and
Brady Lewis all recorded season bests at GVSU.
On the track, the Saints were led by the second place finish of
Nathan Iacona in the 400 meters. Iacona recorded a time of 48.58 to earn runner-up out of 50 athletes.
Jake Van Tassell placed fifth in the 60 meter hurdles (8.29), while
Jaben Bakker recorded a lifetime best in the 600 meters (1:22.67) to place seventh overall.
Aquinas will return to action on Friday as the Saints host the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic at the Alksnis Athletic and Recreation Building. The meet will begin at 5 p.m.
