Allendale, Mich. – The Aquinas men's track and field team traveled to Grand Valley State University on Saturday for the annual Mike Lints Alumni Open. The Saints delivered an impressive showing, highlighted by a first-place finish and numerous season and lifetime bests.

The standout event for Aquinas was the men's 3000 meters, where Juan David Hernandez led from wire to wire to win the event and claim a new personal best (8:38.63).  Shema Reponse (3rd - 8:41.16) and Brian Langlois (6th - 8:46.13) also scored lifetime bests en route to high finishes. In the 200 meters, Keiton Fase (22.31) and Peyhton Wade (22.37), both made their marks as they finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.  Jaben Bakker tallied an indoor best in the 800 as he placed sixth in a time of 1:54.53.

In the field events, Chris Jackson highlighted for the Saints as he cleared 6-2 ¼ in the high jump and received a mark of 20-1 in the long jump.

The Saints will return to action next weekend as they host the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge and compete at the GVSU Big Meet.
